We’ve been building Pickawood’s custom furniture platform together for more than 14 years. What started as a fast, low-cost MVP grew into a full-scale product — and with that growth came the need for a stable architecture, a dedicated engineering team and processes that could support a much larger operation. Our role has been to provide that technical backbone and keep the platform ready for the next stage.
Problem
Pickawood’s custom furniture platform had grown over several years, with multiple components built on top of each other — configurator, quoting, orders and production. The system needed clearer structure, better maintainability and a long-term engineering approach.
Solution
We took ownership of the entire product architecture — stabilizing existing modules, cleaning up legacy logic and modernizing the workflows between the configurator, back office and production system.
Problem
Scaling the custom furniture business required reducing manual work and improving the accuracy of configuration, pricing and production data. The existing tools were functional but difficult to extend.
Solution
We implemented structured data flows, automated key operational steps and improved the consistency of how configurations, quotes and production files were generated. That gave Pickawood a platform they could grow on without operational bottlenecks.
We restructured how product options, materials and constraints were defined, making the 3D configurator easier to maintain and extend. More predictable outputs, fewer manual corrections.
We unified the logic behind price calculation, order creation and production data. Less duplication, clearer rules and a workflow that reduces errors between sales, back office and manufacturing.
We automated several production and back-office steps, removing repetitive tasks and making data handover more reliable. A solid base for handling more orders without increasing workload.
